Pack 358 is a Cub Scout organization part of the Eagle Trail District in the Circle Ten Council as part of the Boy Scouts of America.
We are families that live mostly in the Lovejoy ISD community including Lucas, Allen, Fairview and McKinney, Texas. Our Scouts primarily attend one of the three Lovejoy ISD elementaries or intermediate school although we do have some kids that attend surrounding private schools or ISDs . Our pack is approximately 85 scouts strong, separated into dens by grade level. Each den typically has 5 to 15 scouts of similar grade level. Dens are a great way to make and stay in touch with friends. Dens are also helpful when the elementaries combine in 5th grade at the intermediate school.
Pack 358 is chartered through the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Lucas, Texas however scouts do not need to be a member of the church to participate. All youth in Kindergarten to 5th grade are welcome!
We pride ourselves on being an inclusive and diverse organization. We believe every boy and girl should have the opportunity to experience scouting regardless of their background, beliefs, or abilities.
Pack 358 formed in 1973 under the charter of The Concerned Parents of Hart Elementary in Lucas, Texas. Later, the pack rechartered under the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. Across town, Pack 1222, was formed under the charter of the Cottonwood Creek United Methodist Church and served the other two Lovejoy ISD schools, Lovejoy and Puster Elementary. The two packs ran independently until 2016 when they merged to strengthen the Cub Scout service to the Lovejoy area. The new committee decided to keep Pack 358's number while leveraging other great elements from Pack 1222. The pack has been (and continues to be) one, big, happy Lovejoy family since.
Since it’s beginning, the Cub Scout program has been a fun and educational experience concerned with values. Besides providing a positive place where youth can enjoy safe, wholesome activities, Cub Scouting focuses on building character, improving physical fitness, teaching practical skills, and developing a spirit of community service. Once you join our Cub Scout pack, you are assigned to a den. As a den you meet together as a group to work towards your Rank requirements for advancement. The dens are broken down into the following groups: Lion Cubs (Kindergarten), Tiger Cubs (1st graders), Wolf Cub Scouts (2nd graders), Bear Cub Scouts (3rd graders), and Webelos Scouts (4th and 5th graders). There are activities you do as Den, activities you do as a family and activities you will do on your own.
